In the October 8, 2002 issue of the web based magazine "The Beacon Journal" found at, featured an article with a simple headline, "Adjusting baby". The article is centered around pregnant women who have had success with introducing chiropractoric sessions into their prenatal care. The article claims that the majority of the women who seek chiropractoric care during pregnancy do so for back pain issues. The misconception is that we treat pain,' says Dr. Joseph Medina, an Ohio chiropractor. "My job as a chiropractor is to locate the pressure that's in the spinal column and alleviate it. When I do that, back pain and discomfort is and usually clears up."

Additionally, the article highlights that a growing percentage of women are visiting chiropractors for a newly popular procedure known as the Webster technique. This technique is specifically intended to assist women who learn they can be expecting to deliver a breech baby. Dr. Jeanne Ohm, a chiropractor from the Philadelphia area and executive coordinator and instructor for the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, described the Webster technique: "It's a specific chiropractic adjustment that removes interferences of the nervous system, balances out pelvic muscles and ligaments, which in turn removes constraint from the woman's uterus and allows the baby to get into the best possible position for birth."

The article closed with a statement from one of the chiropractors original patients. . Her comments about her results following a few treatments were, "In the morning, my back would hurt so bad it would be difficult to even walk," she stated. "Now it's not bad at all. I know for a fact this is helping."
